How do I start? Well, I had bought this book a while back but just kept skipping over it! I hate that I did that, but this book is so good! Monet was being a typical teenager, always wanting the finer things, they like being the dope boys' girls! She was thinking she was the #1 chick but she was the #1 dummy! She knew she had a player and a hustla, she was living it up! She didn't have nothing to worry about! Rick is his name, he pays for her eduaction! She started recognizing her worth. She met Jay, a guy in school and brushed him off, and later found out they worked in the same building! They started seeing each other and he started showing her how she should be treated!And then....Well....you will have to read this book for yourself and finds out what happens! I couldn't put this book down, I was reading at least 5-10 mins after everyone had already went back to work! I'm on Princess 2, so until the next review......

I ENJOYED READING THIS BOOK. FOR ME IT WAS A BOOK THAT I WENT TO WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO GO TO SLEEP, WATCHING T.V OR TAKING A BREAK FROM WRITING. I'M EXCITED TO READ PRINCESS 2 & SEE THE OUT COME OF EVERY THING THAT'S HAPPENED THUS FAR. I WOULD'VE GIVEN THIS BOOK 5 STARS, BUT THERE WERE ALOT OF ERRORS.

Broken Promise
I liked the book it was a thug life story (lol). I enjoyed it so much that I went and ordered the whole trilogy. While reading I wanted her to change and make better for herself and then I wanted her to stay. I just had to know that's why I got the set. Trust me go ahead and get them all.
This was a good book to read. I have to know what else happens. I am glad Rick finally grew up and became a man. That damn Trent was a mess, he straight played kekey. But kekey had some mess with her too now. Moni was a good girl who loved a bad boy. Just a normal everyday chick, I speak from experience. If you haven't read the book please do so. Rukyyah is a good author I have read other books by her and I loved them.
Usually when I pick books I look for series, well when I first started this book I wanted to kick myself. Moni was the stupidest woman no girl. She was dating a dope boy who was the boss why she thought she was going to be special is beyond me. When she met this man he had a girl so clue #1 he's cheating on her so expect the same from him. Anyway as the story goes on it gets better not the cheating but thing that happen along the way. Don't sleep on this one I can't wait to start the second one.
PRINCESS was a GREAT READ. It SURROUNDED the LIVES of MONET aka MONI, and HER MAN RICK, who was a BIG TIME DRUG DEALER. He LAVISHED MONI with MONEY, JEWELRY, CLOTHES, EVERYTHING MATERALISTIC HER HEART DESIRED. SHE WANTED RICK'S LOVE, RESPECT, HONESTY, and for HIM to be FAITHFUL. MONET went through a lot of DRAMA with RICK. MONEY, SEX, LUST, BABY MOMMA DRAMA, FAKE FRIENDS, DISRESPECT, LIES, CHEATING, DISTRUST, LOVE LOST/FOUND, and REDEMPTION, MADE this BOOK a PAGE-TURNER. Will RICK CHANGE HIS WAYS? CAN HE GIVE UP THE STREETS? WILL RICK and MONI MAKE IT? BUY THIS BOOK and FIND OUT, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. CAN'T WAIT TO START READING PRINCESS II. RUKYYAH KAREEM, WELL DONE. I TRULY ENJOYED THIS MUST READ........................
I just finish reading Princess it was a really great story. Moni and Rick has a hood relationship. He really loves her but he does not want to get out of the drug game. Moni is not your average hood chick. She actually has things going for herself and she does not depend on Rick to take care of her. Yes he gives her money, buy her clothes, cars, etc.. but it wasn't enough for Moni. She has a college degree, a job, and she was wise enough to stack the money Rick gave her. Then you have Kekey who is Moni "supposedly" bestfriend. She did more dirt then a little bit but whatever done in the dark surely comes to light. Moni leaves Rick and meets a nice young man name Jay. Things are going good for them but you know Rick will never be out the picture. Fireworks go off between this triangle of love and one person will be left hurt. Great Book!! Now I'm off to read Part 2.
First of all...big ups to the author...a great read, worth every penny...
However...
There were quite a few errors, so many that I couldn't give this book a full five star that it certainly would have gotten if it wasn't for the errors. That's why its so important in this business to check work multiple times, even getting a fresh pair of eyes to edit isn't a bad idea. This is not a self promoting gesture from me, (although I am available to help), I just feel like there are times that the full message might not get through if there are too many errors to blur the way...
We are all humans and such that we are apt to make mistakes, its what one does where one goes, once those mistakes have been made known that determines ones success in this business. I am in no way bashing, I'm just saying what I see in hopes to promote awareness and growth. I admire all authors for birthing their vision.
